  1. Oh My ! Self care is difficult for me . I am a good one for advising people to be gentle with themselves , but I don’t often take my own advise ! BAD ME ! ! ! ! When I am successful at self care, I will take a shower and put on make up. YEP…I consider a simple shower , Self Care. I might take myself out to breakfast. A trip to the grocery store is also something I enjoy, so I do consider that , not as a chore, but as a way to self care.
    I guess the way I pamper myself is when I have a pedicure. I don’t have tons of disposable income, so a pedicure doesn’t happen too often. I have also decided that once every 3 months or so , I am going to hire someone to come to my house and do a deep cleaning.
    I think women are particularly bad at Self Care. We are always so focused on taking care of everyone else , we forget to care for ourselves ….. Actually Jen, I have learned some aspects of self care from you ! I see that you purchase yourself pretty things, jewelry , things like that….. I need to learn to do those kinds of things for myself

  2. I make sure to get plenty of sleep. I try to get 8 hours a night, if possible. I also go out with girlfriends and we eat lunch out and then go to a needlepoint shop and stitch with other ladies for a couple hours every Wednesday. Sometimes I get up early in the mornings and spend quality time with my sister on the weekends. She gets up about 4am every day and I will get up about 5am and we talk. Then other times I just want to be by myself, so I sit on my bed and watch TV and enjoy sitting with the cats.

  3. I’m not the best at taking care of myself. Occasionally I will sit and meditate when I’m feeling overstimulated. I’m finding myself easy to stress out, thats a work in progress.

    I start w negative thoughts and it seems to snowball from there. It’s really something that I need to work on.

    I love taking a shower and putting on perfume and scented body lotion. I’m also pretty good about taking care of my face.
